Prima Vera

'Prima Vera' by Esther Wertheimer (Poland)

Completed in 1989 to commemorate Fukuoka city's centennial anniversary, the sculpture depicts prosperity and growth of the city. The way the sculpture's hair and dress flow in the spring breeze symbolizes hope for prosperity, whereas her feet planted firmly on the ground expresses growth.

The sculpture is lit up at night, transforming her kind daytime expression into one of exquisite beauty.
